Terminal Server & CitrixData Down1 TXT SA

On this page the process of installing your software is explained. This page contains information on installing your software on a Terminal Server, Citrix or similar environment.

Where is the software installed?

Pointlogic software uses these default directories (folders) set by Microsoft:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Pointlogic
  • C:\ProgramData\Pointlogic
  • C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Pointlogic

What do I need to install on a Terminal Server & Citrix?

*Contact your IT department to check if your Windows account has sufficient installation privileges

How can I change the location of the registration file?

Please note that changing the location of the registration file is possible for Commspoint software products version 6.19.4 and higher only.

For Terminal Server and Citrix based installations it is possible to overrule the default location of the registration file (Protect_XXXX.lck) using the "Pointlogic.Media.IMC.WPF.exe.config" file. The .config file is located within the ..\\Softwarename\Bin directory. Open the .config file in a text editor such as Notepad and navigate to the section with the label "LckFolder":

<setting name="LckFolder" serializeAs="String">
<value/>
</setting>

change this to (for example):

<setting name="LckFolder" serializeAs="String">
<value>C:\ProgramData\Pointlogic\Registration</value>
</setting>

The directory you have entered between <value> and </value> needs to be an existing directory before you proceed.

After changing the directory you can start the software to register it. See this page for more information on the registration process.
